Greening up our areas plays an important role in combating pollution and creating healthy, happy streets.
Our vision is to create a ‘Trail of Wellbeing’ along our high streets.
In Kentish Town, our vision is shaping up nicely:
Our Trail of Wellbeing starts with the Grow Lissenden enclosure along the Highgate Road where we have created a wonderful woodland.
Travelling south along towards Kentish Town Road, we are working with The Caversham Group practice to create a bucolic and enchanting garden called ‘The Listening Space’. Our design will feature a naturalistic approach, with grasses inter-planted with flowers, and a perimeter of fruit trees surrounding the garden. The Listening Space will provide a quiet refuge and haven for patients, and will be open to the community every Thursday afternoon and the first Saturday of each month.
Next up, we will be greening up Platform One at Kentish Town Station (Thameslink). Please do come along to the Big Community Dig on Sat April 22nd from midday-4pm to help turn this urban grey space into a delightful cottage garden.
Finally, at the bottom end of the high street, we have created The Well beeing garden at the James Wigg Practice, Bartholomew Road. All plants in the Well beeing garden are either bee friendly, or have well being properties. We run regular Thursday sessions here from 3:30-4:45 pm.
But that’s not all! We need your help. Our aim is to green up Kentish Town high street further with trees in pots, shrubs etc- what else can you think of and how can you help?
